Rewarding Caroline Fourest
Yves Daoudal informs us that lesbian activist Caroline Fourest who, along with the exhibitionist and violent Femen group, disrupted the Civitas rally of November 18, later claiming she had been beaten by the marchers, even though she looked fit as a fiddle that evening, has been awarded the medal of Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters).
According to Wikipedia:
Its purpose is the recognition of significant contributions to the arts, literature, or the propagation of these fields.
The award was established on May 2, 1957, during the presidency of René Coty. You can review Caroline Fourest's quarrel with Civitas here.
Note: A correction has been made. René Coty, not Charles de Gaulle, was president in 1957. Thanks to the reader who pointed it out.

I tried to watch Frigide debate her on Ruquier, the episode before the manif, but was too nauseated by Fourest's evil smirk. 1957, would have been under Coty.
@ dauphin,
So sorry about that error. It has been corrected.
