Aznavour and les Petits Chanteurs

Charles Aznavour joins the boys of les Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois (The Little Singers of the Wooden Cross), an itinerant boy choir formed in 1907 in an effort to revive sacred music without attachment to any particular parish. This performance was in 1994.

Ave Maria, those who suffer come to you
You who have suffered so
You understand their miseries
And share them, Maria courage
Ave Maria, those who cry are your children
You, who gave your child to cleanse humans of their stains
Maria, the pure one

Ave Maria, those who doubt are in darkness
Maria, light their way
Take them by the hand
Ave Maria, Ave Maria

I hope your day was full of happiness. But also concern for what we are facing, and hope, however slim, that somehow we will pull out of it.

Aznavour wrote this song, which I think is a nice modern version of the Ave Maria. Here is Nolwenn singing it, with Aznavour in the audience :

Merry Christmas !

Merry Christmas

Coming back in tonight, with a beautiful hymne on my mind, I was thinking to myself.. What a treasure we have in our beautiful songs and hymns connected to Christmas, and first of all, to The Church.

Traditional songs, and hymns, of this sort, are creating a particular state of mind of beauty and well-being. And as time goes, and churches are in danger of extinction, the more you must appreciate this Christian beauty.

The man is a superlative singer, writer and composer. A polymathic artist.Pityhe is getting old and he'll soon have difficulties performing.
